That landed differently than I expected. If someone is recommending a product before there’s even a formal way to do it, the right response isn’t a form letter. So I built the program.
How it works
40% of every transaction, recurring, for as long as the referred customer stays. No minimum payout, no joining fee, no expiry on the commission. Refer someone who sticks around for two years, you get 40% of every payment for two years.
It runs through Creem, so you’ll need a Creem account to participate. There’s a calculator in the dashboard under Settings once you’re in. It uses real plan prices, not a round number I picked to make the math look good.
One honest caveat
The only thing a referred person can actually (when i write this post) buy right now is the Founding Member tier, 9€ one-time. The Solo, Studio, and Agency plans aren’t purchasable yet. So 40% today is 40% of 9€, not of a higher monthly rate. The calculator shows this as the default. This post should too.
Why 40%
Honestly, because splitting closer to half felt proportionate to what I’m asking. If you’re enthusiastic enough about something to tell people about it unprompted, a 10% cut feels like I’m taking the good part and handing you the leftovers.
I don’t run ads. Word of mouth from someone who actually uses PayGlue is worth more to me than anything I could buy. 40% is me trying to reflect that in something concrete.
I also thought about a friend-gets-discount model for a while, 30% off the first month for the person being referred or something like that. Maybe that comes later. For now, affiliate-first felt cleaner. You get something real and ongoing; they get a product they were going to try anyway.
